Brooklyn Nets survive Denver Nuggets' vehement comeback attempt

After leading by as much as 29 at one point, the Brooklyn Nets nearly collapsed against the Denver Nuggets.

The force was with the Brooklyn Nets tonight, and they got out to a very early lead very quickly. Denver had no answer for the Nets in the first half, and Brooklyn was able to get whatever they wanted from inside the arc.

The Nets attempted just nine threes over the first 24 minutes, and they headed to the locker room up 68-52 on a struggling Nuggets team.

As time went on, the Nets looked like they had put the game away. Up by 29 midway through the third, all was well. Then, Brooklyn fell in love with the outside shot. Thanks to strong play from Wilson Chandler and Jameer Nelson, Denver clawed their way back into the contest and trimmed the once massive lead down to five.

Brooklyn narrowly escaped thanks to the efforts of Brook Lopez and Sean Kilpatrick, who had 24 and 22 points, respectively. Bojan Bogdanovic had a huge night as well, going for 19 on 8/11 shooting.

Rookie Isaiah Whitehead looks more and more composed every game and posted 14 points and four steals.

Caris LeVert made his highly-anticipated season debut and collected four rebounds and three steals in nine minutes.

Chandler was the leading scorer with 27, and he added 15 rebounds to boot. Will Barton was second with 15, and Nelson and Nikola Jokic each had 14.
