The New York Rangers have traded Keith Yandle‘s right to the Florida Panthers. Perhaps the Rangers are starting to makes some real moves?
Hopefully this is just the beginning of what should be an active offseason for the New York Rangers. It is looking like Keith Yandle may be joining Jaromir Jagr in Florida next season, as the Blueshirts have traded the rights to the offensive defenseman for a sixth round pick and possible 2017 fourth round pick if Yandle indeed signs with the Panthers.
This is good news for Rangers fans.
Jeff Gorton doesn’t need to have a good summer, but rather a perfect summer if the New York Rangers are going to be successful in the coming years.
While Yandle provided an offensive spark to the Rangers’ blue line, his mental lapses in the defensive zone often cost the Blueshirts’ games.
NYR receive a 6th rounder, plus a conditional 4th round pick in 2017 if Yandle signs with the Florida Panthers.

If the Rangers can continue to off-load big contracts, (Nash) they could be on their way to a true rebuild.
