Mike DelGuidice, artist extraordinaire for Billy Joel and founder of Big Shot, discusses stadium shows and Fenway Park on Schwartz on Sports.

Of all the numbers retired at Madison Square Garden, one stands out.

Why? Well, because neither the colors of the New York Knicks nor Rangers drape the banner. Obviously, we’re discussing the retired banner of Billy Joel.

MSG made sure Joel’s banner was retired thanks to his ongoing residency at the World’s Most Famous Arena. He set the MSG record for performances at the Garden, 65, nearly two years ago.

Joel seemingly always does the same thing for those around him and made sure he provided credit where credit was due in 2013 when he hired Mike DelGuidice has a full-time guitarist.

DelGuidice, 46, had founded Big Shot, the famous Billy Joel cover band who’s always made a heavy mark in the tri-state area.

Luckily for us, DelGuidice took the time out to hop on Schwartz on Sports. We learned a few things about the top-notch musician including which ballpark he’d love to smash a home run out of and just how different stadium shows are as opposed to more intimate events.
