Bill Walton continues to showcase his own unique style (Video)

Basketball Hall of Famer and celebrated Dead Head, Bill Walton, continues to showcase his “national treasure” like persona.

Bill Walton calling games in Hawaii is as perfect as sports television gets.

Or, as Walton himself might say, Bill Walton at the Maui Invitational is the greatest thing in the history of Western Civilization.

Here’s this intro to ESPN’s coverage including a lovely speech about getting “lei’d”:

Is there anyone happier than that right now? Definitely not. It’s only a matter of time until he starts lecturing about volcanoes.

For those who forget, Walton was a dominant NBA center with the Portland Trail Blazers who averaged 17.1 points per game during four seasons with the club. Obviously, his days with UCLA, prior to the NBA, have forever cemented his basketball legacy.

As Scot Van Pelt said on SportsCenter after Monday Night Football, Bill Walton is simply a “National Treasure.”

People ask me what I do in the summer when there's no hockey, I tell you what I do, I still talk about hockey.
