Minor League Hockey Team To Sport Harambe Jerseys

The Trenton Golden Hawks from the Ontario Junior Hockey League will don Harambe jerseys for Wildlife Week.

The legend of Harambe has shown no signs of dissipating in the social world, or the sports world.

The now infamous “Goriller” (as Mike Francesa might say) has his own jerseys in minor league hockey. The Trenton Golden Hawks will wear the jerseys during warm ups for Wildlife Week.

The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game. Proceeds will go to the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, which promotes the understanding and protection of great apes.

A fun promotion with the most notable primate in recent memory is a match made in minor league sports heaven. Maybe a professional sports franchise might consider the promotional idea one day. If the team is struggling and ticket sales are low, what better way to get people out to the arena then by marketing Harambe?
