Sometimes it’s worth throwing down a few bucks here and there in the hope of an unlikely bet coming in. In this ridiculous case, it did.

By Connor Orchard

A man who goes by the name of George Wood won a staggering £116,000 (close to $180,000) on an accumulator yesterday. He placed a tenfold’ win and both teams to score accumulator, and you guessed it, he won.

Nine of his ten results had all came back successful on Saturday afternoon, and he just needed Manchester City to pick up a win against Bournemouth on Saturday evening, whilst also conceding a goal.

And boy oh boy, the bet came in alright. You can imagine that there are some immense celebrations going on for George and his family, as he is now £116,000 richer.

Sometimes whenever I see bets like this, I can’t help but feel jealous, and think to myself that the money has probably gone to somebody completely undeserving, but this isn’t the case with George.

George was forced to leave his job after complications arose, which must have been hard by itself. Not only that though, he was then diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which must have made it a lot tougher to support his young son.

Atta boy George, congratulations!
