New York Islanders’ Cal Clutterbuck Showcases a Nasty Snipe in Buffalo (Video)

Cal Clutterbuck received a great feed from Nick Leddy as he puts the New York Islanders up 1-0 halfway through the first period.

As the New York Islanders continue to battle for every point available to them, there has been some line shuffling prior to today’s match-up.

But, contrary to what you might think, it wasn’t the first, second, or even third line that finally opened the scoring for the New York Islanders.

It was Cal Clutterbuck off a rush from Nick Leddy. The fourth-line, which has seen numerous face-lifts, enters the game with a Gionta-Jones-Clutterbuck setup.

Top-Shelf Snipe

Leddy with a patented Nicky Leddy-type rush skated eloquently through the neutral zone and was able to find Clutterbuck, who along the right side of the boards was able to pick a sharp corner over Robin Lehner‘s glove.

The Islanders will continue their playoff push this afternoon in Buffalo. They currently lead the Sabres 1-0 with just under seven-and-a-half minutes to play.
