New York Yankees: Aaron Judge slaps 119.9 mph base hit (Video)

We all know New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge can hit, but he’s doing things that other players simply can’t do even if they tried.

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge can simply just destroy the baseball.

In the third inning of the Yankees 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, Judge hit a single that broke statcast. The hit was a line drive over Ian Kinsler’s head and was measured to go 119.9 mph off the bat. No wonder why Kinsler didn’t even try to jump for the ball, it sped right past him.

The single was the hardest hit ball of 2018.

For the Angels, they were just happy that this ball stayed in the ballpark. Saturday night, Judge demolished a ball that went over the Yankees bullpen. That’s territory that not many players get to at the new Yankee Stadium. He hit that one 112.5 mph off the bat.

Judge has hit five balls 119 mph or harder since the 2017 season. He’s one of two players that have hit a ball 119 mph. The only other player to do it was his teammate Giancarlo Stanton in 2017 with the Marlins.

Coming into this week, Judge had struggled. His average has dropped to .290 after being in the .300’s for the better part of the season. But Judge hasn’t let that get to his game as he continues to be one of the better all-around players in the major leagues. Look no further than the two throws he made on Friday night, allowing the Yankees to secure a 2-1 win.

It looks Judge is starting to turn things around. He went 3-7  with five walks in the Yankees series with L.A., as the Yanks took two out of three from the Angels.

With Houston coming into town tomorrow, the Yankees will need Judge to be on top of his game.
