Mike Maccagnan's truth

We experienced a candid New York Jets general manager in Mike Maccagnan during his interview with Rich Eisen. Plus some more digging on Sam Darnold.

If you heard the pre-draft presser for Mike Maccagnan you probably got as much out of it as a five-year-old.

The New York Jets general manager was understandably super tight-lipped, but now that the 2018 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror, he opened up a bit in a recent interview with Jets fan Rich Eisen:

It’s super unusual to get this much insight from a general manager, but it kind of takes you behind the scenes on what the green and white were thinking. I talked about it in my most recent column, the Jets ‘dodged a silver bullet’ by getting Sam Darnold instead of Kirk Cousins.

Speaking of Darnold, there’s a bunch of memorabilia out there on the Jets’ new quarterback here’s some you should check plus why Darnold should be the Week 1 starter for the Jets.

Great stuff there as always from my weekly chat with Joe Caporoso on ‘Drive Time Sports’ 3-6 p.m. ET on The Score 1260.

Well we finally know Darnold’s jersey number, it’s 14. Thank god. I thought there would be fans with pitchforks in the streets if we didn’t get that answer. For those wondering about the rest of the newbies, here are all the updated numbers!

Other Jets News

  • Robby Sabo wrote about the swings and misses from the Jets on draft day and it’s hard to disagree with the names he threw out there. A lot of those guys were high on my big board, but the green and white didn’t listen.
  • Unbiased? Probably one of our most humble and handsome writers on ESNY wrote about the Jets stealing Darnold for a poor man’s price, yet getting a caviar product. The Jets completely won this trade and getting Darnold was the cherry on top.
People call me Boy Green for my unwavering dedication to all things New York Jets. I work at The Score 1260 in Syracuse and I'm extremely passionate about sports. I aspire to continue my rise through the business and hopefully I'll end up working for the New York Jets in some capacity.
