Former New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher is calling it a career after playing 12 seasons in the big leagues, including four with New York.
Who can forget Nick Swisher‘s time with the New York Yankees? He was one of the most charismatic figures to ever don the pinstripes and after 12 major league seasons, he is finally calling it a career.
Swisher posted a very lengthy farewell letter on The Player’s Tribune which discussed his major league career, including his time with the championship-winning 2009 Yankees.
“I guarantee you’re gonna have a hard time ever finding somebody who had as much fun playing as I did.” Swisher said.
The charismatic player announced that he will be joining Fox Sports as an analyst in 2017, which will certainly be entertaining to see Swisher give his insights on today’s game.
The 36-year old will be finishing his career with a lifetime .249/.351/.447 with 245 home runs and 803 RBI’s, splitting time between Oakland, Chicago, New York, Cleveland, and Atlanta.
Swisher will surely be missed amongst the baseball world, but we will look forward to seeing his analyst duties this year with Fox Sports.
