When the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians return to Wrigley Field for the World Series, a familiar face could throw out the first pitch.
Now warming in the bullpen, number one, Henry Rowengartner! What was once a cinematic portrayal, could soon be a reality in the World Series.
There’s a chance the ‘Rookie of the Year’ star could throw out the first pitch of the fourth game of the World Series. TMZ Sports recently spoke with Thomas Ian Nicholas, who played Rowengartner in the 1993 film. TMZ notes that Nicholas already purchased a ticket to game four, has thrown out a first pitch before, which makes his campaign to throw out the first pitch a strong one.
TMZ also learned that Nicholas plans to auction off a signed Rowengartner jersey in an effort to help people with terminal diseases.
Thomas Ian Nicholas–part fireballing relief pitcher, part “American Pie’ legend, and part disease fighter. If that doesn’t say “man of the people,” then I’m not sure what does.
