For New York Mets young lefty Steven Matz, Tuesday in Tampa, Florida didn’t turn out to be a banner moment in his young career.

Actually, it was a bad one.

Matz was roughed up to the tone of five runs on seven hits and two walks in just four innings pitched.

The two New York Yankees who smashed the ball the most were Alex Rodriguez and Brian McCann. A-Rod finished 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, while McCann also collected two hits in the game.

Didi Gregorius went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a run knocked in.

For the Mets, Yoenis Cespedes starred at the plate going 3-for-4 with an RBI.
