Today, New York Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka showed us, against the Philadelphia Phillies, why he’s still the cream of the crop on the staff.
Playing the role of road team against the Philadelphia Phillies today, the New York Yankees had more than a normal Spring Training look today.
The reason? Well, their guy was on the mound.
Yanks ace Masahiro Tanaka took the mound for his first appearance in 2016. Finally, the entire organization and fans alike would get their first look at the third-year Japanese import.
He did not disappoint.

With the exciting prospect of phenom Luis Severino coming of age in his first full season in the bigs, Tanaka rebounding from a solid 2015 and turning it back into what we saw a year prior is something very interesting to hold on to.
