New York Yankees Super Prospect Jorge Mateo Homers To Tie Game (Video)

In the third-inning of the New York Yankees’ Spring Training game against the Boston Red Sox, prospect Jorge Mateo makes his mark.

Youth, youth and more youth. Well, enthusiasm, athleticism, and a sheer love for playing the game are all attributes that don’t hurt the cause as well.

Shortstop Jorge Mateo provides all of these things, and once witnessing first hand it’s not hard to see why Brian Cashman and the New York Yankees are so in love with the 20-year old from the Dominican Republic.

In the third-inning of a 1-0 game against the Boston Red Sox, Mateo went deep to tie up the game (video above). The way he simply rounded the bases showed that youthful enthusiasm fans and the organization have been salivating about for years now.

Both teams play on in the top of the fifth-inning with the Yankees holding a narrow 2-1 lead.
