New York Yankees designated hitter Alex Rodriguez didn’t waste time getting in the swing of things against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Well that certainly didn’t take long.

On the very first swing from New York Yankees designated hitter Alex Rodriguez, the ball left the building (video above).

In the bottom of the first inning, facing Philadelphia Phillies lefty Adam Morgan, A-Rod showed he’s serious about proving 2015 wasn’t a fluke. The two-run blast gave the Yankees a quick 2-1 lead in their second Spring Training game of the Grapefruit League.

Entering the 2016 season, Rodriguez trails Babe Ruth’s all-time mark by just 27 dingers. Incredibly, him passing the greatest player of all-time is rather real this summer.

New York went on to lose today by the final of 13-4 in the split-squad contest. On Philly’s side Maikel Franco hit a solo shot.
