If basketball player Ian Langendoefer didn’t become the big man on campus at Honesdale High School after this, then there’s something wrong with the water.

Few things in this world can automatically bestow legend status upon an individual, and these things are even more seldom in the high school world.

Scoring the winning touchdown in a State Championship game, being rumored in spending “extracurricular” time with the hottest teacher in school, or scoring a perfect (whatever the hell score it is) on the SATs are just a few examples.

Now add one more to the list.

Honesdale High School in Pennsylvania is currently boasting a big man on campus after one of its basketball players did the seemingly impossible.

Big man Ian Langendoefer went all Darryl Dawkins on the unassuming crowd as he tore down the backboard on a fast-break dunk on Friday night:

The game was postponed due to not having a “backup” rim in order. How dare they not think of such an event.

Perhaps the breakaway rims were on layaway, huh Honesdale?
