After Jose Bautista’s 10th inning shot to beat them Friday night, the New York Yankees take on David Price and the Jays this afternoon.
From a comfortable seven-plus games now down to just three and a half. This is the lead the New York Yankees (61-47) now hold in the AL East.
Thanks to slugger Jose Bautista, the Toronto Blue Jays (59-52) took one more step in their pursuit of the Bronx Bombers on Friday night.
On Saturday afternoon, they’ll have their newly-acquired ace David Price (10-4, 2.45 ERA) on the mound. He’ll oppose Ivan Nova (4-3, 3.10 ERA).

As Joe Girardi frequently does, he’ll rest one of his regulars in this quick turnaround game. Brett Gardner will receive the day off with lefty-basher Chris Young playing left and hitting second.
The Yanks will look to continue their recent successes against Price. The new Toronto ace has been hit for eight runs in his last two starts against the Pinstripers.
Via ESPN:
“I’ve given up more runs than I’ve gotten outs against the Yankees in my last two starts,” he told MLB’s official website Friday. “I’m going to throw the ball better tomorrow. I have the utmost confidence in myself to go out there and throw the ball the way I’m capable of throwing it.”
First pitch will be 1:05 from The Stadium.
