New York Yankees: Tyler Austin Hits Two-Run Bomb On His Birthday (Video)
New York Yankees rookie first baseman Tyler Austin drilled a go-ahead two-run bomb into the bleachers in right on his birthday.
With the New York Yankees needing every hit they can get this pennant race, Tyler Austin delivered in a tremendous way with two outs in the seventh inning against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Facing Aaron Sanchez, who had a .6 home run per nine rate entering play, Austin took a 95-MPH sinker the other way and into the bleachers in right, giving the Bombers a 3-2 lead.
His second home run of his career was also just the third Yankee to hit a home run on his 25 birthday joining Aaron Ward (1921) and Tom Tresh (1963) as the trio to accomplish the feat.
The last Yankee to homer on his birthday was Alex Rodriguez who drilled one on July 27 of last year.
