Yuli Gurriel’s first-inning home run gives the Houston Astros the early lead over Chad Green and the New York Yankees.
With both teams employing a bullpen strategy in Game 6, the New York Yankees crack first. The normally dominant Chad Green fell victim to a three-run Yuli Gurriel home run in the first inning.

Jose Altuve’s one-out double and a two-out walk to Alex Bregman set the table for Gurriel. Green pitched around Bregman with the open base and it came back to bite him.
Gurriel was 1-for-20 entering Game 6. Pitching around Bregman is easy to second guess in hindsight, but it was the right move that ended with the wrong result.
