With two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the eighth-inning, New York Yankees first-baseman Mark Teixeira hit a clutch shot off of Fernando Rodney to propel his team to a 2-1 victory.

Sunday showcased the rubber game between the teams who previously split the first two at Yankee Stadium.
C.C. Sabathia looked in top form throughout this one. Perhaps it was the fact that Felix Hernandez was across the dugout on the other side. Whatever it was, only allowing one run on six hits and striking out seven in six innings pitched proved to be the lefty’s best start of the season.
