The Yankees’ bullpen may be without a key member.

On Tuesday morning, New York Yankees fans got some troubling news: veteran reliever Zack Britton had an MRI on his elbow.

Britton, 33, got a late start in camp this spring. The Yankees were cautious with the veteran after his bout with COVID-19 during the offseason. He dealt with a hamstring injury during the 2020 season and had elbow issues that ended a remarkable run with the Orioles earlier in the decade.

Our season preview of the Yankees’ bullpen noted there are a couple issues still outstanding for the club to solve before Opening Day. If Britton misses any time that would be a significant blow to the back end of the Yankees’ staff.
