WFAN’s Mike Francesa and the New York Daily News get after it after the latter claimed the Sports Pope ripped one on-air.
Is this real life? The prestigious New York Daily News penned a story about on-air flatulence on the part of Mike Francesa.
During Francesa’s five-minute morning segment on Monday, a noise closely resembling that of flatulence could be heard while the pope ripped New York Jets head coach Adam Gase.
I have examined the footage. I have concluded, unequivocally, without a doubt, there is a fart NOISE at 0:18-0:19. I have been around mics & studios enough to know that many things creak and squeak. Perhaps not his buttcheeks making this noise. #NumbahOne pic.twitter.com/FCeeheWiqV

Who knows? And secondly, who cares?
If this is the world we live in now, I’ll pass. Francesa farting on-air is as dull as a Bill Belichick press conference.
What’s incredibly important to note is that the two sides are now engaged in a holier than thou battle over the accusations.
From Dennis Young of the New York Daily News:
“Mike’s butt is on. (Allegedly!) The radio host appeared to rip a fart while solemnly calling for Adam Gase’s firing on Monday. Watch the video and judge for yourself; the fart noise comes about 19 seconds in.”
Francesa addressed the article and accusation after a caller brought up the topic.
🚨 #FARTGATE 🚨
We had fireworks today if you missed it. Mike Francesa appeared to have farted during his morning show on the app. I posted the clip at 10am. The Daily News then wrote a story about the fart this afternoon.

Naturally, Francesa called the guy a moron. Then slowly realized the truth of the matter.
“They actually wrote a headline on that?,” Francesa asked.

“The president talks about fake news … he’s not lying,” Francesa said. They say stuff that’s completely not true.”
Yeah folks, this is real life. Is the world slowly coming to its end or is this the stuff of legends?
“They do it so they can get page clicks,” Francesa said. “That’s how those rags live, because they’re desperate. They bleed money.”
