Didi Gregorius’s grand slam helped the New York Yankees to a dominant victory in Game 2 of the ALDS over the Minnesota Twins.

Perhaps feel-good stories are better left for the other big-league teams. When taking on the savage New York Yankees, only talent and production prevail.

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Randy Dobnak learned just that in Game 2 of the ALDS Saturday night. The former Uber driver who now finds himself in the thick of October couldn’t handle Aaron Boone’s lineup.

Dobnak relented four earned runs in just two innings of work and the big blow came after he already hit the showers. Didi Gregorius’s casual grand slam put the Bombers up 7-0 in the third.

They never looked back and eventually captured the game by a final of 8-2.

Gregorius finished 2-for-3 with a run and four runs produced, courtesy of the slam.

Elsewhere, Edwin Encarnacion continues his incredible postseason hitting. It was his first-inning knock that scored DJ LeMahieu and go the party officially started for the home club.

Giancarlo Stanton, Brett Gardner and Gleyber Torres collected the other Yankee ribbies in Game 2.

On the mound, Masahiro Tanaka was spectacular. Relenting a sole earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out seven in five innings of work provided the bullpen a much-needed half-breather. His stuff was electric from start to finish.

For Minnesota, the bats disappeared. Manager Rocco Baldelli tinkered with the lineup and it came up empty. Mustering just four hits, only Nelson Cruz could muster a run produced until a ninth-inning garbage-time run crossed the plate.

The Yankee Stadium crowd added the cherry on top with “Uber” chants directed at the Twinkies starter.

Up 2-0, the Yankees will take a day before getting back at it Monday night in Minnesota. First pitch is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. ET.
