With the trade deadline quickly approaching, the MLB playoff picture is starting to become clear. Bubble teams are making tough decisions and contenders are looking for an edge. Ronald Acuna Jr. has something to say about it…

Last night, New York Yankees infielder Gleyber Torres was doing some casual celebrating on Instagram following a great win against the Minnesota Twins. Then, out of the blue, another young star appeared with an interesting prediction…

Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves went out of his way to predict a Yankees-Braves World Series matchup.

First of all, I love this move by Acuna. Baseball’s biggest problem is that the league has no idea how to market its young stars to attract a new audience. One way to fix that? Let the kids play (on social media in this case).

Acuna Jr. created a day’s worth of headlines and sports talk coverage and all it took was a five-word Instagram comment.

Secondly, I love the confidence he’s showing. The Braves currently sit atop the National League East and are looking to add to an already solid roster. Certainly, Acuna Jr. is confident that his team has the pieces to make a deep playoff run. He’s so confident that he isn’t afraid of getting attention from “Old Takes Exposed”.

Thirdly, knowing the history of the Yankees and the Braves in the World Series, I’ll take that matchup every day of the week and twice on Sunday. This Yankees team will dismantle a young Braves team no matter how much talent they have.

But even knowing the outcome, the amount of electric talent that both teams have would make for one of the most exciting series in recent years.

I’m all in on Yankees-Braves 2019 and all in on Acuna Jr. stirring the pot on social media.

Lifetime ballplayer and Yankee fan. Strongly believe that the eye-test and advanced stats can be used together instead of against each other.
