New York Yankees slugger Luke Voit experiences a scary moment on Saturday against the Rockies when he’s hit in the face by a pitch.
Luke Voit just avoided disaster.
On Saturday, he took a pitch up and in, and couldn’t quite get out of the way in time. The baseball grazed his mouth and bounced off as if the man was made of some form of metal.
Luke Voit really is the Incredible Hulk. A baseball just bounced off his face as if he was made of metal. #PinstripePride pic.twitter.com/ZwtewwZGwf

Scary moment for Luke Voit. Thank god he's the legitimate Incredible Hulk walking among us mere mortals. #PinstripePride pic.twitter.com/J6G7Ox5PoS

The Colorado Rockies pitcher who nearly made the Incredible Hulk come to life was righty reliever Chad Bettis. He was called upon after starter Antonio Senzatela was knocked out after just 1.1 innings after giving up six New York Yankees runs.
Although he appeared to be fine, remaining in the game to run on the base paths, Aaron Boone took his slugger out of the lineup for precautionary reasons.
Hitting fifth in the lineup, Voit finished the day 0-1 with a walk and a run scored.
The rest of the Yankees offense continues to pile it on. Nine runs have been plated through five innings, and, shockingly, there hasn’t been a home run. Both Edwin Encarnacion and Gleyber Torress have collected two RBI apiece, while DJ LeMahieu and Didi Gregorius sit at two hits, respectively.
New York enjoyed a masterful 9-0 lead until starter Masahiro Tanaka relented a five-spot in the sixth inning. Tanaka has not yet been relieved. That could change to begin the seventh inning.
The score remains 9-5 in favor of the home team in the bottom of the sixth inning at Yankee Stadium on a scorching hot Bronx day.
