The wife of New York Mets catcher Wilson Ramos had a very interesting and cool way to announce the pregnancy of their third child.

There are numerous memorable ways to announce the pregnancy of a child. Surprising your spouse during a baseball game regarding the news? That may be one of the best ways to get it done. It’s even better when that player is actually playing in the game.

On Thursday night during a game between the New York Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals at Citi Field, Mets catcher Wilson Ramos‘ wife Yely did just that.

While standing in the on-deck circle during the bottom of the fourth inning, Yely decided to surprise her husband with the news that she’s pregnant with their third child.

Despite the game’s suspension due to rain, this made it a night to remember for the Ramos family, the Mets organization, and the fans at Citi Field.

As I mentioned before, there are many ways to do this. This may be the coolest and most memorable way any of us have ever seen.

Despite Pete Alonso‘s best efforts, the game was called in the bottom of the ninth inning, with the score tied at four runs each.

Ramos had two at-bats in the game with no hits and one walk. Not the most productive night for the catcher, but when you have news such as that, who cares?

The Mets will resume the rest of the game against Saint Louis at 6:10 p.m. ET Friday night, before playing the second of a four-game series after that. The game Friday night is scheduled to be played at 7:10 p.m. ET. However, who knows when it will end at this point. The suspended game from Thursday night is tied at the moment, so there’s a good chance it could go into extra innings.

Everything considered, congrats to the Ramos and his family. What an awesome way to break the news from Yely as well.
