Clint Frazier is the latest big name heading to the injured list, but the New York Yankees are still winning with the depleted roster.

Add another to the injured list for the New York Yankees. Although he wanted to battle through it, Clint Frazier is heading to the IL with a partial tear in his left ankle per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

The expectation is that this injury could last somewhere between 10-14 days. In the meantime, righthanded reliever Joe Harvey will replace Frazier on the roster.

This is becoming absolutely ridiculous. In fact, the Yankees’ injury woes have already been ridiculous for weeks. Frazier’s injury just adds to the madness.

The Bronx Bombers currently have a league-leading 13 players on the injured list. No other team in Major League Baseball has more than 10 players currently listed on the IL. Among the notable names for the Yankees are Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Miguel Andujar, Didi Gregorius, Luis Severino, and Aaron Hicks.

And yet, despite all the big names on the shelf, the Yankees are the hottest team in baseball. New York has won six in a row and eight of their last 10 games. They’re only a game behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the loss column although their current hot streak could be fool’s gold.

The Kansas City Royals are an absolute dumpster fire and the Los Angeles Angels don’t have a single pitcher on the staff who strikes fear into opposing hitters.

Of course, the Yankees deserve credit for winning these games. But just like there was no need to panic when the Yanks dropped to 6-9, it’s important to keep this little hot streak in perspective.
