The recently recalled Chris Flexen will start in place of Jacob deGrom, the man who put an entire baseball city on alert on Friday when it was announced his right elbow was “barking.”
DeGrom has been placed on the 10-day DL. It looks as though the MRI was cautionary as the Mets ace feels confident he’ll be returning soon.

For St. Louis, starter Pete Mikolas gets the opening ball. The veteran is 1-1 with a screaming 6.40 ERA who’s making his first start vs. the Mets since 2012.
