One, two, three—Pete Alonso joins the three-straight homer club.

On Tuesday night, the New York Mets stud rookie smacked a home run for the third consecutive game.

The blast happened with the Mets down 7-3 in the seventh inning. Despite Robbinson Cano finding his way to second base, New York walked to the dugout still trailing 7-4 after seven innings of play.

The smash accounts for Alonso’s only hit of the night (1-for-4). For the season, Alonso has now collected four home runs and 12 runs batted over 38 at-bats. His rookie campaign is off to a smashing start.

As far as the Mets are concerned, starter Jacob deGrom finally revealed his human side. The Mets ace relented six runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out just three Twins in four innings. It was deGrom’s worst start in recent memory.

The two teams play on in the eighth inning with the New York Mets needing three to bring them even.
