Oh no, Keith Hernandez. The beloved New York Mets 1986 World Series champ has hit the shelf.

On Saturday, Mex announced to his Twitter world that he had blown out his back again.

“I’ve blown out my back once again. This time I ruptured a disc, T11-12, which is my mid back. Surgery is scheduled latter part of next week. I have a terrific surgeon. Arthroscopic entry, which means no cutting through tissue & muscle.”

It’s become painfully obvious Hernandez is tired of his back woes. As per his usual Twitter outlook, the former slick-fielding first baseman is shedding a positive light on the situation.

“Micro-laser procedure,” he wrote. “He will zap the protruding disc and that will eradicate the pressure on my nerve which has been giving me hell. He will also repair my old, lower back injury. I have severe stenosis there (L4-5).”

Hernandez, 65, is a five-time NL All-Star who treated each at-bat as a wood-chopping exercise. The career .296 hitter collected 162 home runs and 1,071 runs batted in while adding 11 gold gloves and an MVP a batting crown back in 1979 with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Hernandez also chimed in on Brodie Van Wagenen’s offseason moves.

“By the way, I like everything Brodie has done thus far,” he wrote. “From creating more depth in AAA, to all the acquisitions he’s made. Solid and economical as well. I’m so pleased he picked up veteran lefty, Justin Wilson. The Mets in the past have gone only 1 in the pen.

Whether or not the surgery affects his time in the SNY booth—the best collection of broadcast talent not only in New York, but the world—remains to be seen. Most likely, he’ll be fine, especially by Opening Day.

Lastly, if you thought Keith was dealing with his issues along, guess again. His loyal Hadji has been a comfort the entire time.
