There’s still baseball going on for several prospects, including New York Yankees outfield prospect Estevan Florial.

New York Yankees prospects have had quite a bit of success during their time in the Arizona Fall League over the past few seasons. Greg Bird excelled and so did Gary Sanchez. This year, GuEstevan Florial is taking the reins.

Florial has been participating in this season’s Arizona Fall League and has been selected to the AFL’s annual Fall Stars Game. Florial joins several top prospects in the game, including Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Forrest Whitley.

The No. 2 prospect for the Yankees leads the charge of seven Yankees prospects in the Arizona Fall League. Although none of them have made the starting roster besides Florial, Thairo Estrada is in the final vote to be decided by fans.

The 20-year-old spent most of his season in High-A with the Tampa Tarpons, batting .255 in 75 games with 16 doubles and swiping 11 bases.

Currently playing on the Glendale Desert Dogs, Florial has played in 14 out of 18 games this fall. While his batting average is not incredibly impressive, he is batting .357 in his last four games.

According to MLB.com, Florial is ranked 45th on the MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects heading into the 2018 season. So far, the Yankees have showed that they value him immensely, turning down multiple trade offers last season involving him.

It seems as though Florial has some work to do before he makes his way up to the Yankees but he is definitely showing some promise and this Fall Stars Game appearance can hopefully help his case moving forward.

The game is scheduled for Saturday evening at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on the MLB Network.
