New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard got a surprise reply to one of his latest tweets on Monday.

New York Mets Opening Day starter Noah Syndergaard is excited to get back to New York City and kick off the season on Thursday afternoon.

On Monday Thor tweeted out on his personal account, “See you soon NY…..I’m ready [to] breathe in that New York City air again.” Along with the tweet, Syndergaard included a GIF of the Rock, in vintage form closing his eyes and smelling the air.

The Rock, a WWE legend, had a famous line he always used: “Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?” That fits in perfectly with what Syndergaard said.

Being the man the Rock is and never letting an opportunity pass to get his word out, he responded to Syndergaard’s tweet with one of his own.

Johnson welcomed back Thor to New York. He let him know that he had torn muscles and tendons in years past. He acknowledged that the torn lat Syndergaard suffered last year “is savage mode”

What makes this encounter of stars more interesting is the fact that The Rock is knowledgeable about the ongoing fun battle between Thor and Mr. Met. The Rock told Thor not to “take any “expletive” from Mr. Met. He’s to you what Kevin Hart is to me. Just smile and slap him back.”

Great banter between the two big men.

There was no response from either Mr. Met nor Kevin Hart, but don’t be surprised if the two team up in the near future to record a rebuttal.

Noah Syndergaard and the New York Mets will begin the 2018 season on Thursday when they host the St. Louis Cardinals at Citi Field.
