Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry wants his former LSU teammate, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr., to join him in the newest NFL hot spot, The Land.
It’s been an wild couple of weeks for New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. He found himself caught in a bad-looking situation, in bed with a model and next to what could have been controlled substances (although it hasn’t been proven that’s what it was).
This was shortly after he made waves by stating he did not intend to play in the preseason. Reports now indicate that the wide receiver doesn’t plan to step onto the field without signing a new contract first.
All of these factors, combined with John Mara’s aggravation with answering questions about Beckham’s behavior, has led to speculation that Dave Gettleman could trade Beckham. This would sit well with Beckham’s college teammate Jarvis Landry, who tweeted that he would love to see Beckham join him over in Cleveland.

Beckham and Landry have established themselves as two of the best receivers since breaking into the NFL together in 2014. Landry has totaled 400 receptions in his four seasons, including a league-leading 112 in 2017. He’s added 4,038 yards and 22 TDs while making the Pro Bowl in three straight seasons. He was traded to the Browns this offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
Beckham quickly established himself as a superstar. He’s produced 313 receptions for 4,424 yards and 38 TDs, doing all of that while playing only four games in 2017. Beckham was named a Pro Bowler from 2014-2016, and likely would have produced a fourth straight Pro Bowl season in 2017 had he not injured his ankle.
The Giants could feel that Beckham isn’t worth the headaches and move on from the talented yet immature wide receiver, or they could decide that selling low on a franchise-changing player isn’t the way they want to do business. Dave Gettleman has a big choice facing him. However, if he does go to the Browns, expect Landry to be happy about it.
