The New York Yankees reached deals with a number of key players and Yu Darvish seems to be the only one who knows what’s going on with Yu Darvish.
Yesterday was a huge day for arbitration in the MLB and often times, teams and players are able to reach agreements without a hitch. It was a big day in the Bronx and the good news is that this year the Yankees and their players are going to be able to move past arbitration without any major issues. This is a sigh of relief for Yankee fans considering the bad blood that occurred between the organization and Dellin Betances after last year’s arbitration debacle.
The core of the team is intact and now the front office can focus on the free agent market or even explore opportunities on the trade market. The MLB hot stove hasn’t been so hot. Maybe now teams will become more aggressive since they know exactly how much they’re spending on players in their control.

Yu Darvish Destination Still a Mystery
Speaking of the hot stove, pitcher Yu Darvish is still available on the free agent market. There have been many conflicting reports as to where Darvish is going to land, but it seems like Darvish is the only person who really knows what’s going on.
The right-hander initially responded to a Yankee fan via Twitter to let her know that the Yankees never extended him an offer, as was reported by a number of different outlets. But hours later Darvish would clarify that he was given an offer, but the terms being reported were incorrect.
So at this point, much like the rest of free agency, no one really knows exactly what is going on. Spring training is approaching fast so be on the look for a flurry of moves around the league. There’s a good chance that once a few big names ink deals, the rest of the players on the market will follow suit.
They don't give me offer yet? https://t.co/Zlp4KPLdzr

Sorry guys. My mistake.
Actually they did make offer but the numbers are not correct. https://t.co/0mIvMlZTPJ— ダルビッシュ有(Yu Darvish) (@faridyu) January 12, 2018
El Gary Going to All Fields
Gary Sanchez was working on his defense the other day, but he hasn’t forgotten about his bat either. Baseball is starting to feel like it’s right around the corner. Pitchers and catchers report in exactly one month.
While Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge are going to be the marquee names in the middle of the lineup, it would be foolish to overlook the raw power that Sanchez possesses. He could give both of those guys a run for their money this year in a home run race.
