The New York Yankees had a busy weekend. Here’s some of the best that came from it all.
Monday mornings are for endless amounts of coffee and good news. So we’ve got some good news for you in terms of the New York Yankees!
In that trade for Giancarlo Stanton, the Yankees lost a solid second baseman in Starlin Castro. However, despite his trade, he still did one last thing for the city that took care of him for the last two years.
Very emotional day at @steinersports yesterday. With the bad weather ❄️ and news of a trade, Starlin still showed up to sign backorders for his fans for the holidays. He’s a total class act and NY is going to miss him. pic.twitter.com/TG1d2ptVEn

It was announced yesterday by Steiner Sports that his signing was postponed in the midst of the Stanton deal. It turns out that New York may have had enough of Castro but Castro hadn’t had enough of New York.
These are the stories you like to hear about the star players on your team. Seeing this about Castro makes his departure so much harder on all of us. What an incredible guy and a man of the people.
We’re going to miss that incredible Castro attitude in the Bronx. But then again, imagine if the Yankees somehow got a trade that brought him back?
Hey, stranger things have happened. We’ll have to wait and see what the Winter Meetings have in store for our boys in the Bronx.
Wonder no more, my friends. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Yankees have decided on who their next bench coach will be. And he’s one of Aaron Boone’s good buddies.
Josh Bard, 39, will be #Yankees bench coach, sources tell The Athletic. Spent last two seasons as #Dodgers’ bullpen coach, three before that as pro scout and special asst in LAD front office. Teammate of Boone’s with #Indians in ‘05. Possibility first mentioned by @KenDavidoff.

While many have never heard of Josh Bard, the Ithaca, NY native caught for 10 years with various teams, including the Washington Nationals and Seattle Mariners.
Ken Davidoff of the New York Post reported earlier yesterday that Bard was the likely candidate for the job.
Now, can we focus on Giancarlo Stanton again? No, that was not a dream. He is literally going to be wearing pinstripes this season and far beyond.
Well, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports gave us even better news, confirming that Stanton has passed his physical, making him an official member of the New York Yankees. Please continue your happy dances.
Giancarlo Stanton, who’s passed his physical and is officially a Yankee, is said by a friend to be “very happy” with how it turned out. Press conferrence is at 2 et tomorrow.

So get ready for a show at 2 PM Eastern time when Giancarlo Stanton is officially introduced as a Yankee. I know, I still can’t believe it either.
Now it’s down to Florida for the Winter Meetings. Let’s see what other tricks the Yankees have up their sleeves this offseason.
