As payback for the Deflategate scandal, Barstool plans on handing out 70,000 towels of a clown-face Roger Goodell at Gillette Stadium

New England Patriots fans will never forgive NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. And Dave Portnoy isn’t a regular Pats fan.

Before the NFL begins its season in Foxboro with a Thursday Night matchup of the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, the founder of Barstool plans on handing out 70,000 towels to fans. Said towel is a picture of Goodell with a clown face.

This will be Goodell’s first regular season appearance at Gillette Stadium since he suspended Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for four games after Deflategate. As the commissioner of the league, Goodell attends the first game of every season.

Unfortunately, the stunt may not reach Goodell at all, according to Kalyn Kahler of SI.com.

But Portnoy doesn’t care if Goodell sees it live or not. “The added exposure—that’s not what we’re looking for,” he told Sports Illustrated. “We just hate Roger Goodell, and if we can get 70 percent of the stadium waving it, I know he knows what it is, and it’s just a victory for Barstool and Pats fans.”
