The Banana Republic and New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius kicked-off their partnership and the debut of the new Rapid Movement Chino Collection.

On Friday morning at an exclusive in-store event at the Banana Republic at Rockefeller Center in New York, the 27-year-old debuted his partnership with the Banana Republic. He also introduced the new Banana Republic Rapid Movement Chino, an unparalleled pant offering optimal movement, shape-retention, versatility and polish for the man on-the-go, engineered with proprietary performance technology.

Didi joins other athletes –Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum and Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love — in the group of specially-selected tastemakers. The will showcase the brand’s versatility, quality and performance-driven menswear across campaigns, personal appearances and brand programs.

The collection is available globally and online in a variety of styles including the brand’s best-selling Aiden, Emerson and Fulton fits, with the new Tapered fit introduced for the first time with this collection.

Color options include Charcoal, Khaki, Airforce Khaki, Preppy Navy, Black, Burgundy, Blue Shadow, Brown and Olive.

  • Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre manager Al Pedrique confirmed Sweeny Murti of WFAN’s report that first baseman Greg Bird will return to the Yankees for Saturday’s contest. Bird hasn’t been with the team since May 1 due to an ankle injury, which required surgery in mid-July. He went 11-for-26 in his rehab sting with the RailRiders.
