New York Yankees: Starlin Castro Continues His Dominance of Michael Wacha (Video)

New York Yankees second baseman Starlin Castro launches a two-run shot to tie tonight’s contest against the St. Louis Cardinals.

In an inter-league match-up, many teams have not gotten the opportunity to see their opponents before. Starlin Castro has the advantage.

Castro answered Matt Carpenter‘s shot with a shot of his own, a two-run home run to tie the game.

During Castro’s time with the Chicago Cubs, he faced Michael Wacha on a regular basis. Entering tonight, Castro holds a .455 average with two home runs and seven RBIs against the right-hander.

Castro’s launch came off of a 96 MPH fastball and plated Brett Gardner in the process.

After winning four in a row, the Yankees got a nice early boost from Castro and are now looking for Masahiro Tanaka to return back to his ace status.

Castro utilized the short porch in right field, which he hasn’t done much of since his arrival in New York. With the way he crushed that ball, Yankee fans should anticipate much more fly balls to be headed that way.

With 21 home runs last season, Castro is already making moves to surpass that mark. Hopefully, this marks the beginning of another home run tear for the second baseman.
