New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson and superstar Yoenis Cespedes have officially inked the slugger’s new contract.
It’s official. Yoenis Cespedes has re-upped with the New York Mets for a grand total of $110 million over four years.
You can actually witness it becoming official as earlier on Wednesday, Yo actually took pen to paper alongside general manager Sandy Alderson for the world to see (video above).
Donned in a clean-cut suit, the Cuban-born slugger was all business in making the deal official.
Sandy, on the other hand, took a suit-less approach to the day. (After all, he’s throwing around millions on a daily basis.)
The 31-year-old Mets savior smashed 31 home runs and 86 runs batted in over the course of 132 games in 2016. He also batted a cool .280 with 72 runs scored. Entering 2017, Cespedes will surely be the centerpiece of a revamped, much-improved lineup thanks to health.
Cespedes is back for another four seasons.
