New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner has been named a finalist for the American league Gold Glove Award for left field.
Looks like Brett Garnder, one of the most underrated members of the New York Yankees, may earn an award he should have obtained years ago. The
Major League Baseball announced the finalists for the gold glove award and Gardner, Alex Gordon, and Colby Rasmus are in the running to win the award for left field.
Among those three, Gardner ranks third in ultimate zone rating, second in defensive runs saved, the most putouts, and the second most assists. Rasmus leads most categories but the fact he’s a finalist is quite odd, as he hasn’t reached the number of innings in left to be a qualified left fielder.
The winners will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 8 on ESPN.
