New York Yankees’ rookie catcher Gary Sanchez earns another award as he gets selected to MLB Pipeline’s Prospect Team Of The Year.

Rookie of the week (twice)? Check. Rookie of the month for August? Check. Player of the month for August? Check.

You can now add a member of MLB Pipeline’s Prospect Team Of The Year on the resume for New York Yankees rookie Gary Sanchez as he was the most outstanding catcher throughout minor league baseball.

In Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, the highly touted prospect slashed .282/.339/.468 with 10 homers and 50 RBI but somehow got better when he was called up on August 3.

Sanchez set a Major League record by smacking 11 home runs in his first 23 major league games including his incredible month of August in which he maintained a 1.290 OPS in 95 at bats.

Additionally, he has thrown out 45% of runners attempting to steal while making incredible strides at the catcher’s position.
