New York Yankees: Gary Sanchez Wins Player And Rookie Of The Month

New York Yankees’ rookie Gary Sanchez has won the American League Player and Rookie of the Month for his monstrous August.

Gary Sanchez gets to add yet another trophy to his already crowded shelf after taking home the American League Player and Rookie of the Month award in his first for the New York Yankees.

In August, he slashed .389/.455/.832 with an OPS of 1.269 and 11 home runs. He also drove in 21 runs and scored 20 which means he was responsible for 28% of the Yankees’ total runs scored this month.

The 23-year old also became the first player to hit 11 home runs within his first 23 major league games in the same month in which he has earned this prestigious award.

The future is bright as could be. Congrats, Gary.
