Fans cheer loudly for Jose Reyes, as he makes his season debut with the New York Mets Single-A club.
After a long and expected wait, Jose Reyes returned to the New York Mets Organization today. Reyes debuted for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Mets’ Single-A club.
The controversial signing started at third base today, which is a position of need for the Mets. The speedy Reyes went 0-3 in today’s contest and was lifted after 6 innings.
The Brooklyn faithful waited until Reyes’ name was announced just before his first at bat, and then the crowd chanted Jose! Jose! Jose!
2,500 tickets were sold within the last 24 hours after the fan favorite was signed.
Say what you want to say, be on whatever side you want to be on, but the signing of Reyes seemed to be a highly favorable acquisition in the eyes of the fan base.
