With Daniel Murphy making his return to Citi Field tonight, his former club, the New York Mets, honored him with this tribute video.
Well, there’s now nothing left but the crying.
Washington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy has already walked up to the batter’s box at Citi Field as a member of the road team.
He was greeted with a rousing ovation.
Not only that, but the New York Mets provided Murph with the above video tribute prior to game time.
.@Mets faithful give Daniel Murphy the standing O. https://t.co/nGtpPpJfrE https://t.co/6GBoP9OMpG

Call him what you want, but the man was a solid Met all the way around.
As far as the game is concerned, the Mets lead 2-0 on a strength of two solo home runs (Curtis Granderson, Michael Conforto). Noah Syndergaard is on the mound in the top of the fourth inning.
