Fans and everybody who has a vested interest in the New York Mets dodged a major bullet on Monday as Steven Matz received great news.

Did you hear that? I mean, how could you not.

When millions of fans collectively breath a sigh of relief it’s sort of tough to ignore.

That’s what happened on Monday when it was revealed the New York Mets dodged a huge bullet as it pertains to their young lefty Steven Matz.

According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, the Mets received “good news” on Matz after a visit to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan on Monday. There is no apparent ligament damage.

Matz was scratched from his regularly scheduled start on Saturday in Colorado after feeling forearm tightness earlier in the week.

When SuperMatz will rejoin the rotation is still up for debate. Many believe the Mets will do everything they can to squeeze him into the Washington Nationals series beginning on Tuesday. Thursday’s finale at Citi Field is a probable landing spot.
