Be patient Yankee fans, we’re almost there.
In the second to last game before opening day, the New York Yankees powered their way to a victory thanks to two home runs.
The contest was moving along quietly until Brett Gardner stepped up to the plate in the top of the fourth.
Facing off against ace Jose Fernandez, Gardner drilled one over the wall right to put the Yankees up 1-0.
It was Gardner’s second dinger of the spring, as he tries to be as elite as he was in the first half of 2015. The speedster owns a .258 batting average in 11 games in Spring Training.
Home run, Gardy! #Yankees lead 1-0 in the 4th on a solo shot to right.

With the exception of the home run, Fernandez was dominant and finished with seven strikeouts in four innings of work.

Facing off against his former team, Nathan Eovaldi took the hill and pitched relatively well in his final tune up before the regular season.
In 5.1 innings of work, Nasty Nate surrendered only one run on seven hits while striking out three. He did however struggle with command as he walked four batters.
The only run he gave up was in the bottom of the sixth when J.T. Realmuto singled to center to score the mighty Giancarlo Stanton to knot the game up at one apiece.

Dellin Betances and Chasen Shreve pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh inning as they maintain their 0.00 ERA this spring.
The Marlins were able to scratch off a run off of Luis Cessa, who we found out will be on the Opening Day roster.
With the bases loaded and Chris Johnson at the dish, hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Miguel Rojas that gave Miami a late 2-1 lead.
The Yankees, however, refused to quit.
After an Aaron Hicks walk to lead off the top of the ninth, Lane Adams cranked a go-ahead, two run home run to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead en route to a victory.
