Bryan Mitchell threw four scoreless innings today in helping the New York Yankees defeat the Toronto Blue Jays by the final of 4-3.
- New York Yankees 4 (10-12)
- Toronto Blue Jays 3 (15-5)
- Grapefruit League, Final, Box Score
- Auto Exchange Stadium, Dunedin, FLA
The stars of the day offensively for the New York Yankees were Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira, who both drove in runs.
But the guy who took the No. 1 starring role in the Bronx Bombers 4-3 victory against the Toronto Blue Jays was starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell.
Mitchell threw four scoreless innings while only surrendering one hit and striking out four batters.
The newly-acquired Aaron Hicks, who filled in for the injured Jacoby Ellsbury at both center-field and in the lead-off spot, finished 1-for-3, scored a run, and also drove in a run.
On Sunday the Yanks will host the Twins from Tampa.
