New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi couldn’t ask for much more from his ace.

Making his second start of the spring, Masahiro Tanaka allowed only hit hit over three scoreless innings against the Baltimore Orioles today at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa on Friday.

New York won the game 7-1, moving the Orioles spring training record to a pitiful 0-10.

Catcher Brian McCann hit a two-run single in the first inning for the Yanks, while Jacoby Ellsbury, who is a scorching hot 5-for-12 overall, drove in two runs on the day.

The victory now improves New York’s record to 3-6 in Grapefruit League play.
