New York Mets

We knew they’d do something special for the 25th anniversary, but it turns out the New York Mets will wear their 1986 retro uniforms a lot in 2016.

Welcome to 2016 – the season for which all fans of the New York Mets will be in full reminisce mode.

Not only will fans celebrate Mike Piazza entering the Baseball Hall of Fame, but they’ll also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1986 World Championship squad the Big Apple absolutely fell head-over-heels for.

It was already known the Metsies would wear the throwback 1986 retro-style uniforms, but according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, they’ll be wearing these beauties throughout the entire season, not just the celebratory weekend.

So, for those who miss the days of uniforms not having the buttoned-up fashion, and looking more like a tee shirt, you’ll be getting your wish.

One wonders how the current players feel about that.
