Although most of us didn’t see it on Fox, Billy Joel did perform the National Anthem for the Mets prior to Game 3 of the World Series.

Many fans came away disappointed after realizing they missed Billy Joel performing the National Anthem prior to Game 3 of the World Series between his hometown team, the New York Mets, and the Kansas City Royals.

Because he’s a born and bread New Yorker, Joel decided he just couldn’t miss out on the opportunity (video above).

This was especially nostalgic considering he also performed a rendition during Game 2 of the 1986 World Series:

Furthermore, a very special moment occurred during the 7th-inning stretch during the Mets 9-3 victory tonight. Joel was on hand, in Citi Field, to sing along while his very own Piano Man rang loud through the stadium of the home team.
